Introduction Democracy is one of the most important concepts in Political Science and modern political thought. It is generally understood as a form of government in which the ultimate source of political power is the people. The people participate in the political process either directly or indirectly through representatives elected by them. The idea of democracy has developed considerably from ancient times to the modern period.
