Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan 2.0 Launched
On October 18, the Aatmanirbhar Assam Abhiyan 2.0 was officially launched, with the sole intention to empower an additional 75,000 youths and bring the total to 2 lakh self-reliant individuals. During the launch, the Chief Minister stated, "One lakh youth will be covered under the CMAAA 1.0 and 2.0." He explained that the plan is to approve one application for every four submitted, which is why around 25,000 applicants have been shortlisted from approximately one lakh applications. Each eligible youth will receive Rs. 2 lakh, with a provision for those who complete a special professional course to increase up to Rs. 5 lakh.
For registration on the CMAAA 2.0 portal, applicants will not need to provide extensive details. However, they must outline how they plan to use the funds during the application process, "We will select applications proportionately from all constituencies in Assam. Our goal is to ensure that this scheme will benefit all sections of Assam, rather than being region-specific."
Eligibility Criteria
• Age: 28-45 years
Educational Qualification:
• General Category- Must Pass High School Entrance Examination
• Others - 10th standard
• Graduates of Engineering, Medical Sciences, Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences and Fisheries will be eligible for a sum of Rs. 5 lakh.
Criteria
• Must have a bank account opened before April 1, 2024
• Can't be a loan defaulter
• Two individuals from the same family will not be eligible
