1. Foreign tourists in North East .


Current news : 

1.04 lakh foreign tourists visited NE in 2022.



Detailed Analysis:


* The Minister  for Development of Northeastern Region (DoNER),G Kishan Reddy said that as many as 118.45 lakh domestic and 1.04 lakh foreign  tourists  visited  the North Eastern states during the  year  2022.


* Presently , there are 16 operational airports in the North East . Additionally advanced landing ground at Ziro has also been operationalized. 


* Airports at Rupsi, Tezu, Tezpur , Pasighat, Jorhat, lilabari, Shillong, Pakyong, Itanagar and Dimapur involving 64 routes have been operationalized under the UDAN.




2. Rhino Carcass: 

Current News:

The carcass of a Rhino was recovered in Kaziranga National Park.


About KNP:


* KNP is basically famous for One - Horned Rhinoceros.


* The park is covering the districts of Golaghat, Nagaon,Sonitpur, and Biswanath.


* In 1908 , it was declared as a forest, and in 1974 it named as Kaziranga National Park.


* The park is the host for two third of world's population of endangered Indian One - Horned Rhinoceros.



Indian One - Horned Rhinoceros:

IUCN status : Vulnerable.


Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam has the highest density of Indian rhinos.

Rio presents Rs 1,374 cr deficit Budget.

Detailed News:

* Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio,  presented a Rs 1,374.17 crore deficit Budget for the year 2023-2024 in the NagalandAssembly on Monday.


* In the first Budget of the 14 thNagaland Legislative Assembly, Rio
allocated Rs 82,000 lakh for annual development outlay, an increase of Rs 4,500 lakh or 5.49% over the current financial year. Out of this, Rs 25,000 lakh has been earmarked for the state’s matching share for CSS programmes to ensure release of funds by the Central government.

4. India to push for rupee trade in G20 meetings


Current News: 


India will be looking to push the rupee trade agenda in the G20 meetings it is organising as part of its ongoing presidency of the forum.

India is also proposing reforms on the World Trade Organisation

(WTO).


Bebefit: 

Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal said rupee trade will be of help, especially with those countries whose currencies are under pressure.
